Who we are
Cascais Atlas Ventures, Lda. (NIPC 514131993, registered office Rua General Silva Freire 18, 5.º Esq., 1800-210 Lisbon, Portugal), trading as Cascais Ventures, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. For any privacy question or request, write to info@cascaisventures.com.
What we collect and why
| When | What we collect | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| You request our guide | Name, email, country of residence, how you found us | To send you the guide and a short series of follow-up emails about the route. Every email has an unsubscribe link | Your request (delivery); our legitimate interest in following up on your request (follow-up emails, which you can stop at any time) |
| You book a private conversation | Name, email, nationality, country of residence, family members to include, timeline, whether you work with an adviser, your answers on the booking form | To hold the conversation, prepare for it, and follow up on your enquiry | Steps you ask us to take before any agreement |
| You email us | Your name, email and whatever you choose to tell us | To answer you | Our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries |
| You browse the site and accept cookies | Pages visited, approximate location, device and referral source, through Google Analytics | To understand which pages help visitors | Your consent, given in the cookie banner |
We also record how you first reached us (for example a search engine, LinkedIn or a partner link), so that we know which channels work and so that an adviser who introduced you is recognised.
We never sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of providers, each bound by a data processing agreement:
- Netlify: website hosting
- Google: website analytics (only with your consent) and our email
- MailerLite: guide delivery and follow-up emails, and the ARI Cultural Monitor Weekly newsletter (unsubscribe link in every email)
- Calendly: booking of private conversations
- folk: our contact management system
- Zapier: transfers records between the tools above
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
If you go ahead with a donation, we share the information needed with the beneficiary foundation of the project you support and, with your agreement, with the lawyer who handles your residence application.
How long we keep it
- Guide requests with no further contact: 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted.
- Enquiries and private conversations: 36 months after our last interaction, unless you become a donor.
- Donor records: for as long as Portuguese law requires us to keep them.
- Analytics data: 14 months.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, its correction or deletion, a copy in a portable format, or a restriction of its use. You may object to our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time; every follow-up email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Write to info@cascaisventures.com and we will reply within one month.
You may also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).
Cookies
We set Google Analytics cookies only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you accept, your browser remembers it until you change it; if you decline, we ask again after 7 days. You can change it at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Changes
We will update this notice when our practices change, and the date at the top will show the latest version.
